US/UK Summer Exchange Camp 2023 Registration is OPEN

US/UK Pony Club Camp Exchange 2023

WHEN: Monday, July 17 thru Thursday, July 20, 2023

WHAT TO EXPECT: Start 8:00 AM–4:00 PM
• Mornings  1.5 Hour Mounted Instruction (groups 4-6 riders by certification/ability) rotating groups daily— fenced jumping arena, dressage arena, cross country course in the open, polocrosse playing field
• Instructor Rebecca Hill-Brownrigg is certified NDEM, BHSII, British Horse Society (BHS) Senior Complete Eventing Coach, PC Examiner X. Director of The Stables at Cissbury, Nepcote, West Sussex UK, Becky instructs and manages the yard daily, bringing joy and life skills to riders on the stunning Cissbury Estate, bordering the South Downs National Park, trails and cross country training track.
• Instructors James Lindamood, USPC A graduate; and discipline coaches
• Horse management instruction, long line lounging, young horse ground work, protective equipment
• Lunch, English Tea
• Afternoons 1.5 Hour Mounted Try It Activity— 
Mounted Games, Polocrosse, Riding In the Open, Working Equitation, Fox Hunting 
• Polocrosse Play Day afternoon
• Afternoon Bowling Party at The Branch
• Evening activities and dinner for overnight campers 
• Local campers add optional Cowtown Rodeo Saturday, July 22, including bus transportation
• Local Campers optional DC or Harpers Ferry Tour Friday

WHERE: Heartland Polocrosse Pony Club Riding Center, 35805 Allder School road Round Hill VA 20141

WHO CAN ATTEND: All ages and abilities, adult riders, Pony Club members and non-members, are invited. 
Participants under 18 must have a parent or designated chaperone on site.

MOUNTS: Horse, tack, and equipment provided for UK campers. Local campers can trailer in daily or camp and hot pen your own, borrowed or leased mount, tack, and equipment appropriate for your current ability; properly conditioned, groomed, and shod. 

Trailer in daily or camp and hot pen on site. Camp overnight in your own tent. 

UK guest accommodations on site.

Fee Schedule:  
$450.00 UK Rider includes horse
$350.00 USPC member. Supply your own horse.
$250.00 USPC member. Supply your own horse and a horse for UK camper.

Add $35.00 for non-USPC members.

Add $100.00 breakfast and dinner for overnight campers.

Add $120.00 for Cowtown Rodeo Trip, Saturday, July 22 (2:00 PM departure, midnight return) includes bus seat, Western tack shop stop, and pro rodeo ticket.

You Don't Have to Own a Horse to Join Pony Club or Learn How to Play Polocrosse

Heartland Polocrosse Club Riding Center has horses and ponies to loan so the rider can participate in the United States Pony Club program. Mounts are available for all ages and abilities.

Visit Heartland Polocrosse Club's website. Heartland Polocrosse Club, LLC is also a local club of the American Polocrosse Association.

Learn how to ride in an arena and in the open, and how to care for horses in a year round program of mounted and unmounted meetings, clinics, camps, and practices. Discover and practice dressage, trail riding, fox hunting, jumping, polocrosse, mounted games, and more for all ages with Heartland Polocrosse Pony Club Riding Center a local club of United States Pony Club in Virginia.

Polocrosse is a unique display of horsemanship that combines the excitement of polo, coordination of lacrosse, and balanced seat riding into an action packed game of skill, teamwork, and endurance. 

All ages and abilities can play! New riders that can hold a racket and steer pony independently in the arena can play. You do not need a team to get in the game!
